Spring 2012 Classes

Registration is now open for Spring quarter!

Classes thru Shoreline are $30 ($25 for Shoreline residents), plus a $10 materials fee. We provide all materials and tools for the class projects, including a wide variety of quality beads and findings for students to choose from.

Jewelry Basics April 7 10am to 1pm. Learn bead stringing and finishing, attach a clasp and take home a necklace or bracelet of your own design. We'll discuss topics including jewelry design (styles and colors), specialty tools, and bead shopping. Perfect workshop for friends looking to share a new experience or for someone taking a first step in a lifelong hobby. Class project samples

Jewelry Basics: Wire-Work April 21 10am to 1pm. Take your jewelry-making up a notch with basic wire-work techniques including secure wire-wrapped loops. We'll also cover using wire for decorative elemes and making some types of findings..Familiarity with pliers and flush cutters recommended. Class project samples

Earrings Galore! April 28 10am to 1pm. Learn to create earrings that reflect all the facets of your personality, or create gifts for friends and family. In this class, you'll experiment with a variety of dangle earring styles, from small and subtle to big and flashy. Complete at least three pairs of earrings in class. Class project samples: 1 || 2 || 3

Bead Charm Bracelet May 12 10am to noon. Create a bead charm bracelet for a special occasion or to express your unique style. Learn to design a bracelet, attach charms and bead drops and wear it home. Feel free to bring charms of your own. Beginners welcome. Class project samples

Floating Necklace May 19 10am to noon. Create this gorgeous multi-strand floating beaded necklace. Experiment with different colors, textures and sizes of beads to fit your taste. Class project samples

Fall 2012 Classes

Metal Expressions Metal-working is hot hot hot in the jewelry field these days. This class is designed as a "taster" course in basic metal-working techniques, including texturing and stamping. Expect to leave the class with several decorated metal charms in copper and brass. Great for intermediate jewelers wanting to add to their repertoire of skills. Familiarity with wire-work recommended. Class project samples
